The Poltrona Frau Lyra armchair is an iconic design from Poltrona Frau’s historic collection. The Lyra, entirely in leather, first appeared on the scene in 1934 and can be seen as a further development of the ‘Lira’ armchair from 1916, where the body was in leather with a cushion in a velour fabric. The armchair is still made using the same method as in those days. With this, a special artisanal product, leather-covered nails adorn the back. The comfortable cushion is filled with goose down. The frame is constructed of beech and is filled with steel springs for both the seat and back. Those springs are linked with rope and covered with vulcanized horsehair.
